My Sunday Best 7.2.17

dress: Petite Sophisticates via ThredUp, cardigan: Outback Red via ThredUp, shoes: Tahari via ThredUp, earrings: pearl hoops my mom brought back from Italy

(yeah, pretty much everything I wear in from ThredUp or it was a gift)

So, I’m not sure when this Catholic-mom-bloggers-sharing-what-they-wore-to-Sunday-Mass thing started, a few years ago, at least. Rosie is the brains behind it all. I’ve never participated before, but I think I’m going to start hopping on the bandwagon every now and then. Not because I have any plans to turn this into a fashion + lifestyle blog. (I am not that cool.) But just because I think it’s fun to see what other mamas are wearing these days, and I figure you all might, too!

It can be tough to find feminine, modest clothing, and (if you’re anything like me) even tougher to know how to throw what you do find together into a decent outfit. Add a pregnancy (or 2 or 3 or…), postpartum pudge (no, I’m not pregnant anymore, thanks), and nursing access (because we don’t do cry rooms, either), and it’s sort of a wonder I manage to get dressed at all.

Kidding. I’m kidding. No, really.

Anyway, here’s what I wore this Sunday. Not pictured: this lovely veil from Veils by Lily, in Ivory. Curious why I choose to veil in a “normal” (i.e. English/Novus Ordo) parish? I talk all about that here.

Want to see what other Catholic mamas are wearing this Sunday? Hop on over to Rosie’s place, a blog for my mom. There’s a nifty link-up happening, and we’d all love if you joined in! Happy Sunday!

Hello Bethany, nice to meet you! Glad you’re joining the bandwagon 🙂 Although, I’m sorry to say that you won’t be getting too many (read, “any”) fashion ideas from me…I was just happy to finally have something different to wear this week! 😉
In any case, looking forward to seeing you around the interwebs!

I seriously had to giggle with the “it’s a wonder I even get dressed at all.” Simply because I have uttered those exact. same. words to my husband!! Especially as I try to figure out postpartum fashion – 18 months after my most recent (now) toddler!

I’m happy to “meet” you, and look forward to your MSB link-ups! I love the outfit you wore today – you looked very chic.

Hi Bethany, I’m just discovering your blog! I love your lighthearted take on My Sunday Best. Believe me, I’m no fashion blogger either, but I love this link up! It inspires me to want to dress my best for Jesus 🙂

Hi Sara! So nice to “meet” you – and yes, dressing our best for Jesus! I had a priest once who talked about dressing for Mass as being like dressing up for a date with your spouse; I’ve always loved that analogy.

thredUp is my favorite! Thanks for joining in This started yesterday ago on a now-inactive blog, so I was happy to take it over and switch it to “My Sunday Best” – we can all use a little encouragement! Especially with the constant need for nursing access…
